Catalyst.Music Launches as a New Kind of Classical Label
Catalyst.Music has officially launched as an artist-driven classical label with a global outlook. Distributed worldwide by Naxos of America, Catalyst.Music is committed to amplifying extraordinary artists, elevating daring interpretations and bringing timeless music into tomorrow.
Founded by pianist Luis Magalhães (A&R), together with Katherine Muñoz (CEO) and Gerhard Roux (CTO), the label is built on a vision of clarity, artistry and international collaboration. Catalyst.Music launches with a landmark project: Konstantin Scherbakov’s complete recording of Rachmaninoff’s original works for solo piano, presented across four volumes.
The first volume, releasing 17 October 2025, presents Rachmaninoff’s youthful output from 1887–1894, including the Four Pieces, Three Nocturnes, Morceaux de fantaisie Op. 3, and Morceaux de salon Op. 10. These works foreshadow the composer’s mature voice and are brought to life through Scherbakov’s authoritative artistry.
